CMIplus - RBI’s new Cash Management Platform
Bridge to CEE and Beyond
With a presence in twelve Central and Eastern European markets, Raiffeisen Bank International AG (“RBI”) is a key player in corporate banking across the region. The bank supports multinational corporates in managing their financial flows — drawing on deep local expertise and a clear strategic vision: to view digitalisation not as an obligation, but as an opportunity to redefine the customer experience.
By late 2023, one thing had become clear: expectations around digital corporate banking had risen significantly—driven in part by customers’ everyday experiences with seamless digital apps.
“Our customers now expect banking solutions to be as intuitive as the apps they use in everyday life. That expectation became our compass,” recalls Philipp Höfer, responsible Cash Management Product Owner at RBI.
Vision Over Reaction
Following a prior upgrade project of the existing solution, RBI learned a valuable lesson: expanding the old system would not be enough. The team developed a bold vision — a scalable, harmonised platform combining robust standard functionality with room for differentiation, closely aligned with the needs of international corporates.
Philipp Höfer explains, „Our legacy application had grown over several years, and it was evident that the digital experience was lacking. We had to take action.“ The goal: nothing less than a true omnichannel one-stop shop for payments, liquidity and more — accessible via web, mobile, EBICS, APIs or host-to-host.
The result was CMIplus — RBI’s new flagship cash management platform, designed from the ground up to support real-time, omnichannel treasury operations
Technology Meets Trust
After an extensive market evaluation, RBI chose the multi:versa platform by coconet. The decision was based not only on level of innovation and technological maturity of the solution — but also on the strength of the partnership.
At the core of the solution is multi:versa as the corporate portal and harmonised digital touchpoint across all customer channels. It is complemented by multi:bank, the specialised cash management application, and multi:hub, the central e-banking server enabling EBICS and host-to-host connectivity.
