MULTIVERSA IBS connects French corporates and banks via EBICS
21 April 2011 - The EBICS version 2.4.2 is the first joint French-German release after the EBICS communication standard started in Germany in 2008 and became international when the French CFONB decided to join EBICS in 2009. EBICS in France has some differences:
The EBICS standard incorporates the French specifics in the customer-to-bank-transmissions like country specific order types, domestic payments and customer reporting replacing the old French standards ETEBAC3 and ETEBAC5. The EBICS protocol provides security for the data transmission both on the network level (https) and the level of the application protocol by optionally using X.509 PKI certificates for authentication and encryption.
On the application level the French EBICS protocol introduced EBICS T and EBICS TS as security features for a two-phase approach. EBICS T replaces the ETEBAC3 message types and guarantees the integrity of data transmitted from the client system to the bank server by using certificates with electronic signatures for a digital user authentication. In the second phase EBICS TS replaces ETEBAC5 and in addition provides digital signatures for releasing payments by customers.
CoCoNet’s banking server MULTIVERSA IBS International Banking Server provides full support of the specifications of the latest EBICS France standard connecting banks and corporate customers including solutions for the two phases of the electronic authentication and authorisation of payments.
In a third phase planned for 2012 the CFONB will introduce the security feature EBICS DS for the French EBICS standard to facilitate the Distributed Digital Signature (DDS). CoCoNet has already planned to provide a solution for this as well.
In addition to the connectivity solution offered by SWIFT, EBICS for corporations soon will become a commonly used and cost effective alternative in electronic banking for corporates in France.
Apart from Germany and France, large banks in countries like Switzerland and Austria accept corporate payments sent in by corporate customers via EBICS.
The future-proof banking server MULTIVERSA IBS facilitates an efficient migration to EBICS France and helps banks to solidly position on the German and the French electronic banking market.
