New auto transfer tool for MULTIVERSA IFP International Finance Portal
April 3, 2007 - MULTIVERSA IFP International Finance Portal offers users a variety of possibilities for payment initiation. One of these is the auto transfer tool - a module facilitating automated file upload and download between the users' local systems and the MULTIVERSA IFP server. In a pilot project for a bank, CoCoNet has now enriched the auto transfer tool by a range of comprehensive add-ons. Shortly, the new auto transfer tool will be available as a standard feature for all MULTIVERSA IFP users.
The new auto transfer tool differs from the existing solution particularly in two aspects: It provides a generic concept for the supported file types and a refined design of security and transfer procedures.
Thanks to the generic concept for the supported file types the new auto transfer tool is open for additional transactions beyond payment orders and account statements, e. g. for status information. Even country-specific formats can be transferred so that the tool is suitable for international use. Realising the new auto transfer tool CoCoNet paid special attention to the extensibility in order to facilitate customisation according to special needs of the providers.
Another focus was to refine the design of the security and transfer procedures. In contrast to the existing solution, the new auto transfer tool clearly distinguishes between a pure technical digital signature (DS) for the mere transfer of data and an optional second digital signature for authorisation. For the transfer, the new auto transfer tool uses HTTPS with client and server-side authentication whereby files are submitted in a compressed (ZIP) and packaged form.
The picture above shows exemplarily the upload process of a payment order with authorisation signature from the user's local system to the MULTIVERSA IFP server. The auto transfer tool automatically retrieves the file including digital signature, generates the transport signature and hash value and finally transfers all data to the MULTIVERSA IFP server. The server stores the file, validates the digital signature and - after successful validation - routes the file to external systems for execution.
Finally, the new auto transfer tool comes up with improved usability providing an optimised logging (to local logfiles) and the choice between profiles and individual parameters for the control of the auto transfer tool.
Unchanged, in contrast, remained the technical approach. The new auto transfer tool is a java application, installed at the user's local system.
The new auto transfer tool for MULTIVERSA IFP provides significantly enhanced fields of application and optimised usability for banks and corporates.
